Sr Offering Management Specialist – AD Smart Edge (BESS) – Fire Building Automation (BA)

Drive commercial success in the BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and allied industries with innovations and integration into early warning fire detection industry.

The Advanced Detection (AD) Smart Edge team within Honeywell’s Fire business is investing in innovative technologies that are advancing the fire industry for the benefit of all stakeholders, from building occupants to system installers, service providers, and first responders. This role is critical in defending and growing our early detection solutions applicable to the BESS and allied industries with existing market leading product portfolio around the Li-ion Tamer platform. The position also includes building the next level of features and offerings on this platform driven around integrations with leading Honeywell Fire brands as well as BMS system (Battery Management) along with associated training and support. , SaaS components.

Key responsibilities include global scale up of the NPIs, driving further adoption of existing product range, white space study and SAM expansion, definition and implementation of product and solution strategy in the BESS market. You will partner closely with Sales, Demand Generation, Business Development, PMO, Engineering and key internal and external stakeholders and our customers to develop tactical plans to consistently identify and implement new business opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Global responsibility for Early detection offering sales in the BESS vertical. This will be centered around the Li-ion Tamer product lines but also include pull through products like VESDA, XCL in the vertical. Ownership of the Li-ion Tamer global sales revenue.

  • Conduct VOCs, evaluate competitive landscape and continue to define the prod roadmap to deliver winning portfolio and manage NPIs from requirements to launch.

  • Define requirements for new products and enhancements, for both hardware and software, integrating customer needs with the business strategy.

  • Define, integrate and drive AD products in the BESS market, solutions and innovation offering roadmap as part of the FIRE portfolio in coordination with regional leaders.

  • Partner Management: Engage closely with supplier-partner, understanding the nuances of the strategic agreements in place and lead the strategic path for the partnership going forward

  • Closely align with Fire Strategy and Partnerships teams on M&A options in the BESS space

  • Take GTM ownership and collaborate with CM and Sales to drive faster adoption by aggressively deploying new business initiatives.

  • Create distinctive offering plans with outstanding financial outcomes from new solution introduction

  • Commercialize offerings including SKU creation, pricing, sales and technical support training with hands-on support, and meet AOP targets.

  • Create your own industry network and communicate the value of our solutions in customer-centric terms; develop value props into compelling customer pitches.

  • Analyze long term market trends; build and maintain market intelligence of both traditional competitors as well as innovative disruptors.

  • Along with fellow AD OMs, jointly development long-term roadmaps with OEMs and regional Fire teams and manage partnerships.

MUST HAVE

  • 4+ years’ experience in senior product management roles preferably in the BESS market. Prod Management knowledge including conception to NPI launch including VOC, requirements, cross-functional engagement within Agile processes, business case, market intelligence, competition studies, value props, segmentation, pricing, and GTM.

  • Very good understanding of the global battery market and its evolution over the next few years. Strong followers of trends and activities impacting the technologies, products, players and regional play in the BESS space

  • 3+ years driving commercial scale up of a product line, preferably at a global scale. Understanding of multi-channel B2B commercial activities.

  • Ability to represent the product and company at industry forums and think tanks.

  • Ability to travel globally to connect with customers

WE VALUE

  • 7+ years’ techno-commercial experience in the battery or fire industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering or physics) is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated business and technical acumen and proven ability to communicate offering value to the customers.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders and customers to translate discussions into regional roadmaps relating them to business impact.

  • Experience in conducting secondary and primary research and competitive analysis.

  • Well-developed business case analysis skills including opportunity sizing and risk assessment.

  • Track record of leading product launches and working with cross-functional projects.

  • Innovation product experience introducing new technologies into new markets.

  • Analytical thinking and decisive with willingness to make decisions within degree of authority.

  • Ability to balance technology with marketing themes, pivot when required by the business.

  • Process and systems oriented, with ability to evaluate and change when necessary.

  • Ability to connect customer needs, execution feasibility, and business value.
