Principal User Experience Designer

Join a global cross-functional design team that researches, designs, and delivers awesome hardware and software solutions for Connected Supply Chain as part of Honeywell's Safety & Productivity Solutions (SPS) group. SPS creates solutions serving more than 500 million workers worldwide in the energy, construction, first responder, transportation & logistics, retail, and healthcare sectors.

We need a Lead UX Designer who will partner with our customers onsite to lead discovery, opportunity framing, synthesis of insights, and co-creation of concepts. You will collaborate with marketing, sales, and engineering to define and build compelling experiences for one of our major clients located in Bentonville, AR.

You will drive the definition and delivery of a seamless end-to-end user experience across every touch point that one of our major clients has within their implementation of the Honeywell SPS Intelligrated product portfolio, using well established human-centered design principles to ensure our solutions are the most useful, usable and desirable products in the marketplace.

You will work closely with business and design leadership to develop product and technology roadmaps, user experience and design strategies, and brand design languages.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and marketers to define interfaces ranging from responsive web and desktop to mobile and embedded User Interface (UI).

This position reports directly to the User Experience Design Director for North America.

Be prepared to demonstrate experience, expertise and comfort with: working directly with C-Suite level executives and customers.

  • working closely with customers to understand their needs and ensure those needs are represented in product requirements
  • conducting generative user research, design thinking workshops and opportunity framing exercises to create strategies and concepts
  • working in a fast-paced, self-managed, and dynamic environment
  • building a user experience vision and strategy with strong alignment to business and technical goals and product roadmaps
  • working collaboratively and globally with other designers to create, develop, and deliver interaction designs, low-fidelity to high-fidelity renderings and prototypes.
  • scoping, planning and executing projects in accordance with an iterative development process, including multiple projects at a time.
  • working with external design and development firms
  • applying best practices and principles for human-centered design to ensure solutions are useful, usable and desirable
  • drive design consensus within cross functional project teams.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of experience design or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, User Experience Design, Marketing or Engineering related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in research, design and development of products and/or software applications.
  • 3+ year leading research, needs analysis, design and development for a physical or digital product offering.

We Value

  • Deep understanding of distribution centers and supply chain business operations.
  • Familiarity with designing integrated experiences that span physical and digital domains
  • Experience with workshop facilitation and moderation skills
  • Design portfolio of product concepts and commercialized products.
  • Good design skills including information architecture (IA), wire framing, design sketching and lightweight interactive prototyping.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent with common interaction design and prototyping tools (e.g., HTML, CSS, Axure, Balsamiq, Sketch, InVision, etc.)
  • Experience working across multiple platforms, including native mobile, responsive web and desktop.
  • Experience with Lean UX and iterative design methods.
  • Experience working with an Agile development team.
  • Masters Degree or continued education
