Honeywell Project Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

As a Global Transformation Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing project activities, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, and coordinating with cross-functional teams in the strategic scoping, evaluation, financial modeling and execution of major business transformation projects within Project Engineering focused but not limited to:

  • Footprint optimization – ensuring project engineers are location in the right locations.

  • Productivity – increase the revenue/engineer through productivity projects like automation / AI solutions

  • Labor SIOP – partnering with business and finance to build & implement Labor SIOP

  • Create & deploy skill assessment and to create skill repository

  • Drive Project Engineering Honeywell Accelerator “Projects” content

  • Career pathing – implement integrated career pathing for project engineering

You will report directly to our VP for Global Engineering, and you’ll work out of our headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the organization by driving transformations and organizational effectiveness initiatives for the Project Engineering function in partnership with the Business, HR and Financial organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focusing on building a world-class end-to-end process, utilizing and deploying Lean Six Sigma techniques, driving continuous improvement activities, and achievement of superior performance across all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

  • Lead teams. Drive accountability for the success of the project within the team.

  • Influence functional stakeholders and ability to influence across a broader organization.

  • Ability to communicate proactively and reporting out status of the programs effectively with stakeholders and leadership at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to energize/motivate cross-functional, global teams, and organizations

  • Build robust MOS towards execution

  • Systematic methods of program planning, management and continuous improvement

  • Ability to execute to plans while effectively managing risks and opportunities

  • Availability to travel, including internationally

  • An ability to take initiative and work with limited direction

  • Support leadership to Ensure work processes and MOS are in place to support global engineering consistently and effectively

  • Drive cross-functional Project Engineering alignment and readiness

  • Identify and report Project Engineering non-compliance

  • Continuously develop, improve and maintain tools and project templates.

  • Lead efforts to improve our global work processes.

  • Assesses and implement strategy to improve organizational capabilities.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors Degree required in Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • 5+ years experience project or program management experience

  • 5+ years experience in leading change in a complex, matrix organization

  • Experience with Project Engineering

  • Demonstrated record of on-time and on-budget project and/or program management execution.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills are a requirement, including presentation planning and delivery skills.

  • Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification desired

  • Lead and solve complex organizational problems, Expertise on leading / driving change

  • Significant influencing and collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of HR, LER, HR Legal and communications processes with respect to the requirements for developing and executing organizational development and repositioning projects.

  • Ability to lead and communicate financial analyses to prioritize project/business decisions.
