ABOUT THE ROLE

This position requires determining the effects of radiation environments on various components and systems. Radiation test data will be collected and used to verify component behavior in a variety of radiation environments. Tasks include analyzing and interpreting test data and leading and/or participating on teams that resolve technical issues. This position requires close interfacing with customers, fellow radiation effects systems engineers and designers to assure proper component selections are made.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop and execute radiation tests on electrical components and systems.

  • Design and develop component test hardware/software for various radiation environments.

  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures for radiation characterization and radiation lot acceptance tests.

  • Analyze and interpret radiation test data.

  • Conduct functional, performance, and qualification testing.

  • Develop and execute detailed test schedules.

  • Prepare radiation test & analysis reports.

  • Prepare and present radiation results and achieve customer approvals.

  • Provide work direction and support for other engineers and technicians.

  • Experience working in radiation environments, radiation facilities, and dosimetry systems to include prompt dose, total dose, neutron, proton, and heavy ion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and reliability.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • 3+ years of direct experience

  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
