In this role, you will be part of a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex application functions within Honeywell Sensing and IoT organization. The Systems & Application Engineering Team plays a key role in bringing the understanding of new technologies together with the commercial viability and the customer needs they serve.

This senior level role is expected to be the technical inspiring leader in Heavy-duty/Media-Isolated Pressure Sensors, Load Cells, and Torque Transducers, know how they integrate into the end application, and make valuable contributions for our customer and target sectors they serve.

Want to know what to expect of the role? As an integral part of a team that grows our Heavy-duty/Media Isolated Pressure Sensor and Test & Measurement offerings portfolio:

  • You will provide in-depth technical support and know-how to customers to aid in the proper selection and application of Heavy-duty/Media Isolated Pressure Sensing, Load Cells and Torque Transducers.

  • You will actively work with customers, Sales and Field Application Engineers to win new business opportunities.

  • You will work to understand system level challenges and how our sensing solutions can tackle problems and add customer value; own responsibility for validating sensor value propositions in targeted end applications.

  • You will drive leading technical presence in the marketplace by crafting and publicizing technical collateral such as white papers, reference designs, and detailed application notes.

  • You will have a high level of involvement with Strategic Marketing and Global Product Management counterparts to support product roadmap development strategies based on sound industry and customer knowledge.

  • You will communicate and effectively work with global engineering resources in support of developing new and creative sensing solutions.

  • You will maintain data base of high-reaching products and capabilities and cross-reference lists; lead bold benchmarking, tear-down & data analysis initiatives.

  • You will support ‘Proof of Concept’ deployments by providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and data analysis; Relay customer feedback to the project team to rapidly develop a minimum viable offering.

  • This role will require up to 30% international and domestic travel

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science

  • At least 5 years’ experience in product design and development


  • Sensor-related design and development experience is highly desired, especially in Pressure Sensors, Load Cells, and Torque Transducers

  • Ideal candidate will have a good balance of mechanical/hardware design, electronics, firmware and software development skills and experience

  • Experience with strain gauge, bonded foil gauge, and silicon piezoresistive MEMS technologies

  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design, sensor signal conditioning circuits, sensor interrogation, circuit building and debugging, sensor calibration and test, A/D Converters, ASIC's and microprocessors in products, circuits, and systems

  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation e.g. multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition hardware; GPIB control

  • Skills in MATLAB, LabVIEW, C++, C, and/or Visual Basic

  • Experience working directly with customers, VOC (voice of the customer) and Requirements Definition work.

  • Experience leading projects from start to finish

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks based on high level business objectives.

  • Integrative thinking: Ability to clearly assess new opportunities or situations and consider all aspects in decisions or recommendations

  • Experience and comfort operating in a global matrix business environment - global teaming and collaboration

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics preferred
