An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Director of Business Development for Refining’s Hydrotreating business within the Lifecycle Solutions & Technology (LST) business unit of UOP located in Des Plaines, IL. Hydrotreating is a growing dynamic business enabling UOP to deliver more value for our customer. We are growing at a fast pace and need employees passionate about this business line to help us develop and transform into a leading supplier of products and solutions to address our customer’s hydrotreating needs throughout the lifecycle of their business. This position reports to the Vice President / General Manager of Refining and plays a key and integral role in leading the hydrotreating business on its growth trajectory.
This position will lead in the development of commercial offerings, supporting the sales efforts within UOP's Customer Success Organization (CSO), ownership of the Hydrotreating portfolio management process including STRAP, AOP, and NPD, to grow the business greater than market rates. This role will develop and lead the organization through the second phase of UOP’s expansion into Hydrotreating by creating new solutions to customer’s treating needs using existing and future manufacturing assets as well as forming partnerships with third parties who rejuvenate hydrotreating products.
Lead the Hydrotreating business line with full P&L responsibility and anticipated revenues of $110M in 2021 and $200M by 2023
Oversee the successful construction and startup of one of the largest hydrotreating catalyst manufacturing sites in the world
Works closely with R&D, ISC, Sales, Sales Support and Services organizations to ensure the product line objectives are met
Drive development of strategic plans; identify, evaluate and close on strategic opportunities across the business line
Lead and execute the daily commercial operations of the business in line with the annual operating plan (AOP).
Build and motivate an effective team. Drive business objectives through effective cross-functional and regional relationship building
Establish strong understanding of market dynamics, competitors, and customer requirements
Communicate, evaluate and execute on strategic options for the business
Improve people capabilities, communicate and motivate employee base
Travel globally up to 25% of the time to meet business objectives
Develop strong partnerships with key customers and suppliers
YOU MUST HAVE
3+ years of experience in a commercial role
5+ years of experience in the Refining market space
5+ years of experience in a customer facing role
Degree in science or engineering
Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent
Strong financial acumen
Innovative thinking and execution
Strong written and oral skills
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to manage and influence others that do not report to you but greatly impact your business
