Honeywell Director IT in Des Plaines, Illinois

As a Director IT here at Honeywell UOP, you will be IT Business Partner for UOP Project Business and will oversee the project management team within IT working with contractors as appropriate. You will have the opportunity to lead and oversee our IT Projects, providing strategic direction and guidance. Your expertise and leadership will drive the success of our IT operations, ensuring the effective implementation and management of technology solutions to support business objectives. You will report directly to our Chief Information Officer and you'll work out of our Des Plaines, IL location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the organization by driving the development and execution of IT strategies, managing IT projects, and ensuring the security and reliability of our IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize IT initiatives that drive business value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, refines, and implements project management and process improvement strategies, processes and policies, and works with leadership to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs

  • Serves as a change agent to successfully lead continuous improvement projects enterprise wide

  • Works closely with IT leadership to establish a project governance framework to ensure a structured and consistent approach to all initiatives

  • Embraces coaching, mentoring, and developing others in a variety of key skills including communication, relationship management, continuous improvement, and project management

  • Develops and maintains high levels of communication, collaboration and partnership across the organization, ensuring a solutions-orientated culture while fostering a positive team environment.

  • Works with IT leadership, including the One List committee, on executing the strategic direction of the Company’s initiatives.

  • Leads company-wide and department specific projects.

  • Presents the more complex process findings, recommendations, and implementation considerations during formal discussions with senior leaders to facilitate insight and understanding of current processes

  • Meets regularly with leadership to provide periodic status updates of current project efforts

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in IT management or a similar role

  • Experience with software technologies like Angular JS, ASP Net, React JS and databases like Cosmo DB, MangoDB and SQL

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar project management is preferred

  • Strong understanding of Project Financials including unbilled, aging, earned value, past due and aging.

  • Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these

  • Experience in modernizing engineering tools using COTS technology

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred

  • Experience in Process Industry with Process Design and Simulation tools
