Integrated Project Solutions – Solution Development Leader
UOP is a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, Inc. It is a leading international supplier of process technology, products, engineered systems and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries.
There is an immediate opening for a Solution Development Leader in the Integrated Project Solutions group within our Petrochemicals and Refining Technology (PRT) business unit. This position is located in Des Plaines, USA, and is part of a specialized global team that supports customer’s project development and value creation and UOP’s technology licensing activities.
The Solution Development Leader leads UOP’s engagement with customers planning new, and revamping existing refining and petrochemical complexes. There project typically are multi-billion $ investments. In this role, the Solution Development Leader will work closely with the customer as a trusted advisor to create project identify solutions for maximum value creation that best fit the customer’s needs. It will also involve understanding the customer’s project execution plans and how UOP can best support the customer during the project development and execution. The role of the Solution Development Leader is to develop process technology based business solutions that maximize capital efficiency and net cash margins. The Solution Development Leader is required to develop optimal solutions as seen through the eyes of customer CEOs and CFOs.
The Solution Development Leader will also support technology licensing activities on multi-unit opportunities by providing consultancy on the development of complex wide value propositions that are unique to UOP.
In addition to external focused engagements, the Solution Development Leader will also work internally to identify value gaps in UOP’s portfolio, and help develop the business cases to support R&D and M&A investment opportunities.
The Solution Development Leader will work both individually and as part of larger teams, and will have frequent customer interaction. Within these interactions the leader needs to establish credibility with the customer and ensure their issues are addressed in a timely fashion. They are also responsible for meeting project goals and deadlines within the estimated time.
Keyaccountabilities of this position include:
Lead engagements with customers to develop complex processing solutions that meet the customer goals and allow projects to progress to further development.
Use refinery & petrochemicals complex modeling tools to develop and compare configuration options.
Leverage the knowledge of UOP to provide unique, high value solutions.
Steward the development and execution of opportunities into technology licensing events.
Work to ensure customer satisfaction through good communication and delivery on our commitments.
Anticipated travel up to 25%
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
15+ years’ experience in refining and/or petrochemical technologies / petrochemicals configuration modeling and analysis / refining and/or petrochemicals production planning
Demonstrated ability to effectively drive multiple project teams and interact effectively with other internal and external groups
Skilled at economic analysis of major capital projects and familiar with sensitivity analysis techniques like Monte-Carlo analysis
Experience developing and justifying capital projects
Experience with economics & planning
Experience programming LP Models
Experience using and analyzing LP models
Capable of working under limited-to-minimal supervision
