Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing, and may serve as a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Possess knowledge of piping engineering, materials, equipment, and construction techniques. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in piping design and engineering.

  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity, man hour estimates and budget control for coordinating the proposals.

  • Ability to travel 10-15% domestically and internationally.

  • Review and approve final design documents for piping systems, including isometrics, shop drawings, material submittals, and pipe support designs.

  • Prepare requisitions for various piping components such as Spring supports, Pressure Relief valves and piping specialty items and review vendor quotations.

  • Familiar with Piping material class Manual valve specification, pipe fabrication, heat tracing, pipe & fitting materials, insulation, SP items etc.

  • Prepare Piping Line List. Review all P&IDs for conformance to the piping material specifications.

  • Inspect piping components at vendor’s premises, or fabrication shops and prepare associated inspection report and release notes. Attend kickoff and Pre inspection meetings.

  • Collaborate with multi-discipline technical specialists to integrate piping across the full spectrum of projects and client solutions.

  • Independently carry out responsible and varied engineering / technical assignments using standard methods and procedures.

  • Proactively looks for opportunities to improve productivity.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

  • 7+ years of Piping experience in the refining, petrochemical, or power generation industries.

  • Experience in piping engineering and pipe stress analysis.

  • Experience with Piping (oil & gas industry) using industry codes and standards such as B31.3, B31.1, BPVC, API.

We Value:

  • Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Experience with Piping design, Pipe support design, and Pipe stress analysis (CAESAR II).

  • Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with all levels of management and outside customers is highly desired.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or Lean certification

  • Experience to leverage technical writing skills to produce high quality presentation content providing results and/or project status to

  • Ability to provide technical guidance, product assurance techniques, consultative services, and innovative solutions.

  • Ability to apply advanced design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to highly complex engineering concepts and projects.
