Honeywell Sr Advanced Technical Sales Engineer (Hydroprocessing) in Des Plaines, Illinois

As a Sr Advanced Technical Sales Engineer (Hydroprocessing) here at Honeywell, you will be a key member of UOP's Process Technology & Equipment team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and providing technical expertise for our hydroprocessing solutions. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, develop customized solutions, and deliver value-added proposals. Your deep knowledge of hydroprocessing technologies and strong technical acumen will enable you to effectively communicate the benefits of our solutions and drive business growth.

Key Position Accountabilities:

  • Act as a Proposal Manager for Hydroprocessing technologies, aiming to increase UOP's share of Hydroprocessing technology licensor selections.

  • Participate in setting the technical strategy for sales opportunities, developing proposal and product value propositions.

  • Engage in voice of the customer exercises to obtain feedback on offerings, quality, and customer needs.

  • Obtain and report on competitive intelligence, competitor strategies and products, market demands, and trends.

  • Be part of the Project Technology Group within UOP's Process Technology and Equipment business unit.

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the entire product line, focusing on the assigned area of expertise.

  • Leverage knowledge of competitors to develop differentiated solutions and generate a quantified UOP value proposition.

  • Participate in best practice teams and develop/improve tools for improved sales support efficiency.

  • Develop and generate performance Yield Estimates for Hydroprocessing technologies.

  • Customize guarantees to project requirements, considering competitors' positions.

  • Contribute to relevant sections of agreements with minimal guidance.

  • Leverage multi-functional resources and insights to build business strategies and execute plans.

  • Drive key development projects in Hydroprocessing technology and infrastructure activities for future sustainability.

Key success factors in this position include:

  • Ability to develop unit yield estimates and technology proposals that position UOP favorably against competitors.

  • Ability to interface with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization and globally.

  • Ability to work with Engineering to establish project basis and scope.

  • Lead post-mortem project analysis to identify reasons for win/loss and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Ability to communicate clear and concise messages, presenting solutions and value propositions in the customer's language.

  • Strong passion for winning and making faster decisions.

  • Past experience in customer interfacing, technical proposals, bankability studies, and guarantee exception process preferred.

YOU MUST HAVE

•8+ years’ experience in Refining/ Petrochemical technologies including minimum 24 months’ experience in the technical sales or engineering field with majority in process technology (development, sales, design, operations and service).

•Experience in Hydroprocessing technologies is Mandatory. Experience in Renewables technology is an added advantage.

•Ability to travel 15-20% of time worldwide to custom

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as chemical engineering or related field

• Master's degree in chemical engineering or related field

• Experience in the refining or petrochemical industry

• Proven track record of sales success and achieving revenue targets
