We have an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join us at Honeywell in Geismar, LA. This position is part of the Corporate Indirect Procurement Operating Supplies Category Strategy Team (CST). This is a key procurement role responsible for key Indirect Sourcing category strategies, execution and results to optimize total cost of ownership at the Honeywell ESS Gulf Coast Chemical plant campus. This is a hybrid role, 3 + 2 days model.

Key requirements:

  • Develop robust commodity strategies for the Category Strategy Team and with consideration to quality, cost, speed and service requirements, market conditions, risks and exposures, competitive landscape, and projected changes over the strategic planning horizon, global industry trends, suppliers’ capabilities, and overall supply chain expertise.

  • Partner with the Buying Operations Team and ESS functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and support of category strategy creation and execution. Facilitate engagement across Campus sites to drive a singular approach to supplier management.

  • Consolidate fragmented Site spend, reduce the use of non-strategic suppliers, and move the procurement activities upstream in the lifecycle of a solution in order to bring greater value to Honeywell.

  • Reduce complexity and increase leverage with supply base to drive incremental value and cost reduction.

  • Execute the annual operating plan through year-over-year improvements in productivity, working capital, quality, delivery and supply continuity.

  • Negotiate and execute supply agreements with strategic suppliers capable of providing solutions that meet established business requirements and follow the global commodity strategies while maximizing benefit to Honeywell.

  • Act as Sourcing/procurement single point of contact for ISC/Site personnel for ESS Campus sites.

  • Improve internal customer satisfaction and overall, ESS Campus site performance.

  • Build strong technical solutions including new technology, VA/VE, CE product and cost improvements with supply base.

  • Participate and ensure success with Zero Based Budgeting at ESS Campus sites.

  • Engage with business and functional leadership to align on business needs/objectives and communicate performance/results.

  • Develop and lead site productivity reviews and kaizen strategy (BAE) events/initiatives focused on supplier productivity, working capital and value generation.

  • Build thorough understanding of Honeywell purchasing processes (Source-to- Contract, Procurement-to-Pay), policies and procedures to drive process and policy improvements to enable Indirect sourcing efficiencies and business results.

  • Invoice resolution, problem solving and continuous improvement focus.

  • Training experience with requestors to drive compliance and improve process.

  • Present campus results and develop action plans to mitigate any gaps to financial targets.

Must Have's:

  • 7+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience, to include at minimum, 4 years in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation with global contracts.

  • In-depth experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.);
