Honeywell Sr Field Install Technician - Herndon VA in Herndon, Virginia

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Sr. Field Install Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning Honeywell control systems, specifically in the areas of HVAC. These systems are engineered by Honeywell in-house engineers, installed by Electrical Subcontractors, and then commissioned by our field technicians in various commercial buildings such as office buildings, schools, universities, airports, and hospitals.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Commission control systems by installing pre-engineered software, checking out control systems, starting up, and fine-tuning their operations according to customer requirements and job specifications.

  • Utilize productivity tools, such as wireless commissioning, to improve efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, making necessary software changes to meet specific requirements.

  • Coordinate with other trades, customers, general contractors, mechanical contractors, and Honeywell engineering to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Support system balancer as necessary.

  • Conduct basic system functional testing as required per contract.

  • Manage Honeywell's assets, including tools, software, and site database.

  • Keep documentation and paperwork up to date.

  • Carry out site hazard and risk assessments for Honeywell tasks, ensuring proper use of safety personal protection equipment.

  • Obtain necessary security clearances as required by the customer.

  • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Niagara N4 experience

  • 3 years' experience in technically related hands-on field work on HVAC building automation systems

  • 3 years' experience with building systems. Programming, PC, and general networking knowledge

  • 1 year experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet browsers

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Niagara certification

  • HVAC license

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams

  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
