Honeywell’s Federal Manufacturing & Technologies business manages the U. S. Department of Energy’s Kansas City National Security Campus in Missouri and New Mexico, manufacturing sophisticated mechanical, electronic and engineered-material components for our nation's defense system. Honeywell is on the leading edge of supplying engineering and manufacturing expertise for our nation's defense and national security.

You will join our Functional Applications team within the IT division at the Kansas City National Security Campus. Responsibilities include acquiring knowledge of various business applications (50% of the time on Planview Enterprise), working with customers to identify improvements, coordinating work with vendors, and ensuring enhancements are implemented successfully. You should be a great teammate with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

This position is located in the greater Kansas City Metro area.

Summary of Duties:

  • Administers, maintains, and supports the Planview Enterprise application for 150+ (and growing) user base.

  • Work with IT and business management to effectively and efficiently use Planview Enterprise.

  • Maintain and configure updates to Planview Enterprise (i.e. Investment and Capacity Planning, Resource Management, Financial Management, and custom integrations).

  • Define standard methodologies to continually improve data integrity.

  • Write and deliver training.

  • Assesses customer needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and advises on options.

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of various COTS software packages in order to perform minor configuration changes like adding to select value lists, screen changes, and simple workflow updates.

  • Analyzes existing information systems and applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements and may evaluate and provide recommendations for new application packages.

  • Participates in planning sessions with a customer to implement process improvements within an assigned customer area.

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding hardware, software, process and services that will improve overall IT support for customers.

  • Assist with testing and duplicating unknown software and hardware problems reported from the customer-base and fixes the issue(s) at hand. May raise hardware problems to appropriate IT team and software bugs to the software vendor.

  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates a variety of projects related to customer support activities with minimal supervisory guidance.

  • Follows the IT change management process for executing production changes.

  • Coordinates application life cycle to keep software up to the latest version.

  • Develops and maintains documentation for assigned applications which may include a Configuration Management Plan, System Requirements Document, Software Quality Assurance Plan, Knowledge Base Articles, and Statements of Work to procure vendor services.

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or IT related field.

  • US citizenship needed in order to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy “Q” level security clearance.

  • Three (3) or more years' IT-related work experience, to include two (2) or more years of direct work experience with programming/systems analysis

  • Ability to use software knowledge and experience to assess, diagnose, and correct problems for customers.
