Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing, and may serve a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide system level engineering leadership in global cross functional engineering teams with focus on software/embedded firmware engineering. This is an advanced engineering position.

  • Implementing full life cycle software development process from requirements gathering, design, development, test, and release. Excellent documentation and design of experiments background. Cyber Security.

  • Drive hardware requirements and planning for hardware and mechanical engineering activities.

  • Provide systems design and development activities in new product development that lead to new toxic gas detection products and / or improvement of current products and processes.

  • Architectural Development: Lead and contribute to the design and development of gas detection instruments and sensors across line of business categories that meet industry standards/customer requirements at optimum cost. Help generate a common corporate identity with Honeywell products.

  • Facilitate and participate in risk analysis reviews; DFMEA and PFMEA, Quality Audits and problem-solving field returns.

  • Facilitate product integration into corporate management ERP systems including ECN change notices in a factory environment.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment with potentially conflicting goals and objectives.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in EE or SW Engineering

  • 10 + years of engineering experience in cross functional product development.

  • Experience successfully developing 2 products through its full lifecycle in a structured phase-based development process.

WE VALUE

  • Embedded Software development and testing skills with thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

  • Regulatory and Cyber Security expertise.

  • Knowledge communication protocols LoRa, Bluetooth, 5G a plus.

  • Must have proven ability adhering to a software and/ or product development process.

  • Project management skills.

  • Gas detector development experience a plus

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Experience applying six sigma methodologies.

  • Experience with configuration management and change control.
