Senior Planner

In the UK we are investing in further additions to our commercial and project management teams to support growth in our business. We are looking to appoint a Senior Planner to join our team to improve our processes around project planning and deliver on planning activities as part of our business.

The position will report into our Project Management Leader and will be based out of our offices in Bracknell and travelling to project teams as needed throughout the UK south country.

Position Deliverables:

  • Create, review and update construction programme for live and awarded projects
  • Develop full WBS, Programme and resource histogram for tenders as requested
  • Identify the clear Prelim resource requirement within WBS and use the resource histogram to estimate the project cost
  • Carry out the delay analysis in awarded project and develop as built programme and identify the cost implication of any delay on project overall cost
  • Liaise with engineers, project managers and other project team members to keep plans updated and identify project issues particularly those with respect to programme
  • Liaise with customers to review and align project plans to their schedules
  • Request and guide the development of sub-contractor project schedules
  • Keep customers updated on progress and organize meetings and presentations to discuss project plans and associated issues and opportunities
  • Work to prepare reports and updates for internal project reviews

Experience

  • Knowledge of BMS/Fire and MEP practice as part of the construction industry
  • Extensive experience in planning, scheduling and reporting (KPI)
  • Demonstrated ability to work projects of greater than 1M£ and/or with greater than 25 staff
  • Worked previously on planning activities as part of NEC Contracts

Skills

  • Be Comfortable to use any Scheduling Software (MS Project, Primavera P6 and Asta)
  • Understanding of NEC3 contracts and processes regarding planning and reporting
  • Commercial acumen with detailed understanding of budgeting and project financial management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Keen attention to details
  • Ability to deal and interact with multiple stakeholders
  • Promotes teamwork and diversity and demonstrates growth and customer focus
  • Is self aware and learner and gets results
