Honeywell Field Service Engineer I - DCS in Louisiana, Louisiana

Position Overview:

Honeywell’s Field Service Engineers are responsible for effectively providing services to support the on-site installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems.

You will focus on providing customers with maintenance and modernization services on Honeywell’s DCS Platforms. The role requires you to be self-supporting and includes on-site maintenance, performing system diagnostics & analysis, troubleshooting problems, installing new systems & replacing parts.

Work & Travel Schedule:

  • Typical work week is Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm) with ability to work overtime when needed.

  • Be available for off hour “Emergency On-Call” as needed.

  • Depending on the service requirements for a particular customer or region, this position may require significant travel as well as overnight travel

  • The territory for this role is 50% of the time in West Monroe, Louisiana and 50% of the time in other states such as Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma etc.

Company Vehicle / Travel Expenses:

  • Company vehicle is provided - Must have valid driver’s license.

  • Corporate Travel card will be offered to pay for expenses (No expenses come out of your pocket)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Honeywell’s suite of (DCS) quality control hardware and software and handle customer questions about the state of the system.

  • Preventive, Corrective, and Emergency maintenance of customer's Distributive Control Systems

  • Troubleshoot and solve system and process related problems

  • Write Monthly Performance and Results Reports

  • Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes staying current with installation standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines.

  • Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products, and ensure equipment is operational and free of defects.

  • Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems.

  • Review product prints and specifications.

  • When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers

  • Work with contractors to review and ensure the unit/package is installed to specifications.

  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 1+ year(s) of professional experience in an engineering or technical field and/or Military experience in electronics programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification.

  • Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s)

  • Ability to travel up to 50%-75% of the time which may include overnight stay(s)

  • Valid driver's license acceptable to Honeywell

*Engineering or technical fields may include field service, technical operations, industrial maintenance, process automation, heavy manufacturing, prior military experience, development and/or reliability engineering, etc.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Math

  • Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering or Technology

  • Ability to work safely within the Honeywell/Customer HSE requirements.

  • Experience with industrial process control field instrumentation

  • Networking experience

  • Previous experience working in a Field Service Technician position

  • Previous technical/installation experience

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex system or process problems
