Honeywell Electro Mechanical Engineer in Mason, Ohio

Engineering support for cost savings projects identified from throughout the organization. Projects normally concern qualifying a new source for an existing part or updating designs to allow new vendors to effectively quote a part. This position will act as a liaison between Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality. This Engineer will perform analysis and create documentation to report results to management. The position will be required to manage projects and utilize project management software. Create design specifications and other detailed documentation as necessary to support projects. Work with Internal customers, suppliers, and all levels of manufacturing and management personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work closely with Sourcing and Product Engineers to implement cost savings projects.

  • Create test plans and define testing criteria to effectively evaluate parts.

  • Perform testing on parts and document results.

  • Analyzing and reporting results of projects

  • Work remotely with Engineers and Suppliers in other countries.

  • Design or Redesign parts and assemblies.

  • Detail-oriented personality

  • Ability to communicate well to other members of the development team

  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement cost savings projects; Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Vendors, and Management Personnel.

  • Present status reports demonstrating progress toward pre-determined timelines, produce and work with Gantt charts and spreadsheets.

  • Provide timely communication on significant issues or developments.

  • Working knowledge of Bill of Material creation, PLM, and ERP use.

  • Able to work independently under General supervision.

  • Capital Justifications with emphasis on ROI’s.

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical engineering

  • Solidworks or equivalent software

WE VALUE:

  • Electro-Mechanical design experience.

  • Experience interacting with Manufacturing and Suppliers.

  • Comfortable working remotely with engineers and vendors from around the world.

  • Microsoft Office and Project.

  • Understanding of electrical engineering and control systems is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, Verbal and written.
