Honeywell Mechanical Design Engineer II in Mason, Ohio

Join a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical challenges and finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve products, procedures, and technologies. You will design and develop solutions for new products as well as modifications to existing products to meet market needs. In this role, you will be a key contributor to New Product Introduction (NPI) and Velocity Product Development (VPD) projects.

Team members are cross-trained to carry designs through the development process from conception through product launch. In this position, there are opportunities to be the lead engineer on design projects with support from other Product Development team members. The team works cross-functionally and often interfaces with customers, vendors, manufacturing, and quality to improve and develop new parts. This role regularly contributes to upper-level product and assembly design, product prototyping and testing, and critical product support.

To be successful in this position, you should be able to understand part and assembly interactions to develop designs that fit within a system. You must be able to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously, while focusing on the critical components and deadlines of each, to drive successful completion.

Design components and sub-systems that form parts of complex systems

Use engineering experience for a mix of product development, improvement, and testing

Analyze data to determine if design meets function and performance specifications

Utilize your engineering capabilities to support projects in a variety of markets

Create and maintain items and BOM structure

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical preferred)

  • 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred)

  • MS Office daily use skill level

  • 4-10 years of experience
