The Mechanical Project Engineering Co-op strives to be an industry leader in material handling design and execution. The Mechanical Project Engineering Co-op will assist with the overall mechanical design and function of the system. This responsibility includes assisting the project manager in forecasting when costs will be incurred over the life of a project. The Mechanical Project Engineering Co-op can produce high-quality engineering work while traveling and supervising on-site activities. In this role, the Mechanical Project Engineer will have the following primary responsibilities:
Thoroughly analyzing the product data that is to run on the material handling system, understanding and documenting: length, width, height, weight, rates, slip angle, etc.
Planning, tracking, and communicating the status of internal and buyout equipment as it is ordered, manufactured, and shipped to the jobsite
Working with other engineer disciplines in the development and application of material handling equipment as required in support of project needs
Supporting the Project Manager in project execution demands
Development of final acceptance mechanical documentation
Produce high quality layout drawings
Design and cost estimation
Work directly with lead engineers
YOU MUST HAVE
Motivated to drive improvements in a challenging environment
Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
Team working ability
Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
Ability to easily and effectively juggle many priorities and competing demands
Good communication skills verbal and written
