The Project Manager – New Product Introduction, will support Offering Management and Technology teams in managing the end-to-end execution of projects related to New Product Development within Advanced Materials. This expert project management professional will develop the detailed project plan outlining all the key milestones, risks, actions, resource /cost requirements, assign owners, timelines, and coordinate the completion of all tasks through the project lifecycle – starting from Upfront Market Discovery to Product Development to Launch.

The Project Manager will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working closely with widely dispersed global Product Management, Technology, Supply Chain, IP / Legal, R&D and Customer Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Program Leadership - Must be very effective in communicating expectations, aligning, and energizing, cross-functional teams

  • Planning - Lead and manage establishment of aggressive but realistic and comprehensive plans for new product development and deployment

  • Program Execution - Provide strong leadership to globally dispersed cross functional teams with uncompromising drive to meet program targets

  • Risk & Opportunity Management - Pro-active management of risks and opportunities ensuring that appropriate actions are planned and executed for risk mitigation and opportunity achievement

  • Organizational Engagement - Engages all levels of Management across the organization by exception to resolve resource conflicts, remove roadblocks, & implement risk mitigations

  • Work scope and Change Control - Direct and manage the process of scope definition and change control, including estimating and negotiations of program contract and scope variations

  • Program Status - Focal for reporting status of programs at various levels of the organization


  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering related field

  • 5+ years program management or project leadership experience

  • 3 years’ of proven experience working in a diversified, global product development environment

  • 3 years’ experience working with MS Project tool, including ability to create and maintain complex schedules


  • PMP or other Project Management certification

  • Experience in project managing new product introductions of chemicals and materials offerings

  • Experience working closely with R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain, IP / Legal and Customer Marketing teams

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external customers at all organizational levels

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and energize cross-functional teams across multiple sites

  • Ability to quickly assess unclear, complex, and ambiguous situations and reduce into distinct, clear, timely, and stable direction for the development team

  • Understand product development methodologies

  • Working knowledge of Agile\SCRUM methodology

  • Negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups; settle differences with minimum noise; win concessions without damaging relationships; be both direct and diplomatic; gains trust quickly of other parties; has a good sense of timing

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
