A Senior Project Engineer is required to lead and manage a cross-functional team in design, development, and implementation of space science instruments and technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing specific team efforts in support of the program cost, schedule and performance goals and is required to provide technical authority for the assigned program(s).

Assignments will include management of development projects and R&D programs, team co-ordination of proposal work for new business. The Project Engineer will also be the Engineering interface with the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization and Customer Support team.

Job duties to include but not limited to:

•Responsible for the technical leadership, cost control, schedule milestones, customer and program management interfaces.

•Leads other disciplines, interfaces with internal leaders, Chief Engineers and resident experts to accomplish program objectives.

•Manages the product definition process from requirements definition through design, development, validation & verification, and introduction to production.

•Program tracking and reporting (non-recurring and hardware cost, schedule, and milestone accomplishments), using Project scheduling, reporting and financial management tools as appropriate.

•Focal point with all internal departments including Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, Contracts etc.

•Leadership of customer design reviews, technical co-ordination meetings and in-house product development process Engineering inputs with support from appropriate functional groups as required.

•Recognizes and communicates new business opportunities

•Supports proposal preparation for new business pursuits.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

You Must Have:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science

•Minimum 7 years engineering experience in a high-tech environment

We Value:

•Program management experience including earned value reporting, and experience with computer-based scheduling and reporting tools. PMP certification is preferred.

•Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams

•General knowledge and experience of space hardware design is important.

•Experience in optical and RF based designs and of space mission design is a key advantage.

•Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills in a team environment.

•Discipline in defining and meeting customer & project requirements.

•Ability to be inquisitive and collective in thinking to work with other disciplines and collaborate on ideas and thoughts in resolving complex problems.

•Strong focus on customer satisfaction (internal and external) through technical solutions and execution of project assignments.

•Thinks strategically and plans for growth and technology development.
