Lead Application Engineer

As a Lead Application Engineer here in Honeywell Aerospace Service & Technology within the Flight Simulators group, you will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise and support to our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for providing solutions and technical support for manufacturers of simulation devices used to train pilot and maintenance personnel. Our team supports all Honeywell avionics products across all aircraft, military and commercial, by providing data, technical support, and software products incorporating avionics software from Honeywell products such as EPIC, displays, FMS, and surveillance products. This role will be required to address multiple requests in different software languages across various avionics platforms. You will report directly to the S&C Operations Director, and you’ll work out of our Deer Valley, Arizona while adhering to a hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions

• Manage project timelines, customer commitments, and resources

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (cyber & export)

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

• Minimum of 6 years in application engineering or a similar role

• Excellent leadership and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks

WE VALUE

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive results

• Excellent trouble shooting, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Debugging problems with multiple systems and recommending the path to resolution

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

• Expertise in Primus Epic and APEX system

• Knowledge in Anthem system

• Knowledge of I/O modules, AFCS, FMS, FBW, Displays, ESCAPE registries, DLS

• Knowledge of Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Agusta, Pilatus projects

• Familiarity with surveillance products MKV, EGPWS, TAWS, TCAS, WXRDR

• Ability to gather requirements from PVCS, DOORS, and multiple other systems

• Software skills (C, C++, other languages)

• Experience with Real-time operating systems

• Experience with Avionics software programming

• Experience with Configuration Management

• Experience with AeroPDM

• AECS L2 or L3 Classifier / Approver

• Simulator environments and tools TATS, PCSim, TIU, EASE, DFTS, FTCM, FTD

• Knowledge of ARINC 653 operating systems such as WindRiver VxWorks and DEOS
