This posting is for a Lead Project Engineer -UAS-UAM Systems group based in Phoenix, AZ.

The scope of the position is to be part of the project engineering team for the UAM/UAS group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the overall system-level integration activities for UAM projects.

  • Work with Lead System Engineers to deliver customer required reports.

  • Ensure contract deliverables (SDRL’s) are delivered on-time.

  • Engages and leads internal cross-functional teams, including engineering, business management, airworthiness, customer support, quality, integrated supply chain, etc. to ensure success of projects being worked.

  • Regularly provides status to and coordinates approval with Honeywell’s customer.

  • Provide budget estimates, schedule status and staffing forecast to SPE

  • Capital Planning and Processing

  • Drive continuous improvements in execution (e.g., NRE reduction and efficiency improvements)

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering and avionics

  • Previous Honeywell project or program management experience

  • Knowledge of certification regulations (Do-160, Do-178, Do-334, Do-229)

  • Project engineering experience with avionics products and processes

  • An understanding of business objectives and more importantly the ability to interact with our customers

  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

  • Program/control account management skills

  • Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources and implement project objectives.

  • Demonstrated Earned Value Management skills
