In the Mechanical Test group at Honeywell Aerospace, you will collaborate with and advise cross functional engineering teams on the technical aspects of mechanical testing of specimens and coupons, primarily for aerospace engine applications. Grow your potential for technical leadership by:

Plan, monitor and deliver materials test results via a 3rdparty mechanical test vendors or on-site test capabilities
Exercise technical leadership within cross-functional engineering teams to define test programs, maintain, grow, or establish on-site test laboratory capabilities, establish advanced test methods, and guide interpretation of test data
Drive improvements in a challenging environment. Implement new ideas, standards and processes across cross-functional areas.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field
7+ years in mechanical testing experienceworking in part or in whole with MTS servo-hydraulic machines, to include:
Knowledgeable in ASTM test standards to determine fatigue, fracture, crack growth, creep and static properties for materials
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrated leadership through project management, process improvement, or establishing/enhancing mechanical test capabilities
Experience with specimen machining methods and requirements
Experience reviewing or analyzing mechanical test data to relate test phenomena with measured outputs
Fundamental understanding of aerospace materials such as nickel and cobalt super alloys, aluminum and titanium
Professional mindset with advanced personal productivity, organization, time management skills
Experience/aptitude to mentor and coach others in a hands-on environment to conduct standard testing and interpretation of data
Experience in conducting test programs for test articles for non-standard testing, which are outside the current purview of ASTM or published standards is a plus
Experience to design/modify fixtures and test methods for non-standard mechanical properties measurement
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced degree preferred
