Honeywell Engineering Manager in Plymouth, Minnesota

Be a part of the leadership team shaping navigation and sensing products of the future. You will lead a team responsible for design, development, and verification of advanced inertial measurement systems featuring the world’s most sophisticated sensors supporting commercial, defense, and marine navigation applications. The position will focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top technical talent; partnering with the business to create and execute innovative product line growth strategies; and building an operating system to ensure efficient and effective project and department execution.

This position is for the Engineering Manager of the Alternative Navigation team reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager for Sensing, Guidance, & Navigation’s Advanced Projects Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee engagement – all aspects of people leadership including hiring, expectation setting, coaching, career development & performance management, and team building

  • Program execution - managing cost and schedule, staffing supply and demand management

  • New product development and business execution – actively participate in product roadmap development, technology transitions, customer engagements, competitive intelligence, and new business proposal generation and approval

  • Transformation and Innovation Leadership - identify and implement significant improvements to engineering processes and standards for emerging technologies and products

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Material Science

  • 10 years engineering development experience

  • 1+ year of navigation technology exposure

  • US Citizen or permanent resident

  • Knowledge of avionics systems, including flight control systems, navigation systems, communication systems, and electrical systems

  • Knowledge of Inertial, GPS, or Alternative PNT sensors

  • Extensive collaborative work with cross functional partners enabling teams to exceed expectations on work delivery and timelines

  • Self-motivated and consistently takes the initiative to get things done

  • Security clearance
