ABOUT THE ROLE

Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical design and analysis projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, products, and technologies. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, and testing, and may serve a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements.

Washington candidates: The salary range for this position is $121,000-$180,000K. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accelerometer design

  • Accelerometer analysis using ANSYS (and other software)

  • Technical reports and documentation, including white papers

  • 3D modeling

  • Write specifications

  • Lead RCCA activity

  • Oversee prototype builds and development

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics

  • Must be a US Citizen due to program contractual requirements

  • Must have the ability to achieve a security clearance

  • ≥10 years’ of professional experience

  • ≥3 years’ experience with GDT

  • ≥8 years experience with design tools appropriate for the field (e.g., Creo, Solidworks, ANSYS, AutoCAD, Fluent, etc.)

  • Experience with new product development

  • Experience working in an Aerospace environment

  • Experience with inertial sensors or other precision instruments

  • Demonstrated experience using data to make decisions

  • Experience with transient dynamic analysis

  • Experience with anisotropic material properties

  • Experience with piezo-electric material properties

  • Experience with the creation of digital twins and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)

  • Experience with machine shop tools and processes

  • Experience with tooling design for precision assembly

  • Ability to work independently

  • Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work

  • Creativity

  • Six Sigma certification and demonstrated use of tools

  • Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience

  • An open, honest, and team oriented personality
