We are looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to install and update fire alarm systems in commercial buildings. Under general supervision, performs inspections and maintenance of fire alarm and suppression systems for compliance with district policies/procedures and local, state, and federal regulations and standards to ensure the environmental health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Applicants for this position should have their level I, II, or III NICET certification, which requires prior experience. You should also be knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, maintain, and program fire alarm systems according to specifications and codes
Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems and perform necessary repairs
Optimize programmable features of fire alarm systems to meet specific requirements
Collaborate with project teams and customers to ensure successful project completion
YOU MUST HAVE
NICET I certification or Fire Alarm Texas license
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or related role
Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and their components
Programming experience with fire alarm systems
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
WE VALUE
NICET II or higher certification
Experience with Honeywell fire alarm systems
Knowledge of local fire codes and regulations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
