This position is for the Quality Engineer role at the Tempe, AZ location. The successful candidate will not only drive adherence to the site’s quality management system, but also lead resolution of problems, solution development, and execution while working with a variety of stakeholders including engineers, planners, operations, customers and suppliers. Organizationally, this position will report directly to the Site HOS/Quality Manager.
Responsible for quality assurance processes including, but not limited to, product audits, work instruction administration, as well as coordination of Quality System compliance audits.
Review, approve or develop corrective actions to ensure robust Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) is taken for product audit/inspection deficiencies.
Evaluate procedures for compliance to contractual and regulatory.
Prepare and present metrics associated with quality trends and related improvements.
Provide leadership in deploying and sustaining the Honeywell Operating System (HOS) and Enhanced Built In Quality (BIQ) element initiatives including BIQ escalation and QMB board activities
Support Customer communications to facilitate and improve product quality and delivery as needed.
Support Supplier purchased product, interface with internal groups and Strategic Supplier Quality to facilitate problem resolution and review corrective actions.
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant discipline OR 5 years’ experience in Aerospace or other regulated industry in an engineering or technical role
2 years’ experience using software (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, etc.)
Green Belt Certification
Current ASQ CQA or CQE certification
Experience using Honeywell specific software/management tools (ECATs, PDM, One Source, SAP, etc.)
Understanding of basic international trade compliance and regulatory issues
Familiarity with Quality Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.), Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Process Control, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
Demonstrated ability as a self-starting, self-directed individual
Demonstrated technical knowledge, leadership and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills at all levels of the organization
Strong understanding of Quality engineering practices applicable to the manufacture of Aerospace products including customer and industry standards
Ability to be flexible, adapt to change, and work in an ambiguous environment with minimal oversight.
