This role is responsible for providing leadership, ownership and coordination for the Honeywell Aerospace business throughout Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) and Turkey. The successful candidate will be tasked with growing the Aerospace business within the region’s Commercial and Defense & Space markets by accelerating current strategic plan outlook over the next 5 years.

There is a team supporting the Aerospace business within the region with plans in place to increase the number of business development and customer relationship management personnel in the near future.

This role would have direct responsibility for managing sales personnel across the aftermarket Airlines, Business & General Aviation, and Defense verticals as well as dotted line management responsibility for strategic marketing and support staff for Central Eastern Europe and Turkey.

Based in any of our key Aerospace growth markets in Central Eastern Europe and Turkey, the Aerospace CEE & Turkey Regional Leader’s main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide overall strategic direction for the CEE & Turkey Aerospace Team and work closely with the SBU's to deliver profitable growth, faster than the market with year-over-year margin expansion and related performance objectives including supporting and/or overdriving our STRAP initiatives.
  • Drive Business Development activities including the identification and building of relationships with strategic partners for joint ventures and partnerships.
  • Lead cross-SBU regional growth initiatives and synergies including, commercial and technical synergies, execution offsets, ISC & localization initiatives/synergies and take active part in "One Honeywell initiatives" e.g. Airport projects.
  • Interface with Aerospace leaders for CEE and Turkey-specific Aerospace growth projects.
  • Provide the glue and increased focus on common agenda items for the Middle East team.
  • Increase connectivity to EMEA Leadership Team.
  • Work closely with Corporate Government Relation Teams, focus and intensify Government Relations programs, advocacy and policy initiatives to achieve business growth for Aerospace.
  • Develop proactive M&A pipelines and help support Aerospace licensing strategy in CEE & Turkey, leveraging Corporate resources as required.
  • Attract, retain and develop in-region talent base including managing the overall CEE & Turkey MRR processes both within Aerospace and cross-SBG.
  • Reinforce Aerospace strategy and initiatives and leveraging the bigger Honeywell to enable growth for Aerospace SBU's in Region.
  • Engage in Government Relations Advocacy & Policy initiatives including active participation and presence in Industry associations and forums.
  • Be an active member of all CEE & Turkey Councils to support 'ONE Honeywell' and cross SBG synergies and initiatives.
  • Be a key member of the EMEAI Aerospace business leadership forums, when appropriate, to present on key Regional strategic initiatives and programs.
  • Strengthen the CEE & Turkey Aerospace Organization capabilities and employee engagement, including developing deep bench strength and retention through Cross-Country and SBG MRR processes.
  • Act as an Ambassador for all University Relations and other external hiring and employer branding activities.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Engineering or Business Degree
  • Knowledge of the Aerospace Industry and CEE and/or Turkish Markets (10 years in Aerospace in region)
  • Experience in leading in an Emerging Market Region.
  • Experience developing people, ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outside of hierarchy and immediate chain of command.
  • Strong business acumen to understand business needs, cost structure, strategy, and external forces
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in matrix environment to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to execute on assignments
  • Awareness in managing local cultural sensitivities.
