Senior Project Delivery Technician (Install Technical Specialist)
Leads successful on-site installation, servicing and repair processes of complex equipment and systems without direct supervision. You will coach and mentor at least one Associate Install Technical Specialist each year on delivery process, commissioning techniques and coordination at site with contractors. Follow detailed work instructions and amend any outdated or incorrect instructions with help of Engineering teams. You will make improvements to training guides and documentation. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives in the field to quickly fix any administrative difficulties relating to delivery and installation of proper equipment. You will train the customer on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures for complex equipment. You will represent Honeywell at industry conferences and provide technical presentations.
The main function of this position is to commission Honeywell control systems – HVAC, Fire & Security Control Systems. These control systems are engineered by Honeywell in-house engineers, installed by electrical sub-contractors and then commissioned by Honeywell field techs in commercial buildings (Office buildings, Schools, Universities, Airports, Hospitals, etc.)
Install Technical Specialist will work towards continuous improvement of commissioning practices, specifically reducing commissioning hours per device and/or hours per system using HOS techniques.
Install pre-engineered Software, checkout Control systems, start up and commission systems and fine tune their operations as per Customer requirements or Job specifications or both
Troubleshoot hardware & software issues, make changes to meet spec requirements. May involve some re- engineering effort
Manage small jobs (<$50K) end to end
Coordinate work with other trades and upper tier Contractors to accomplish Honeywell’s commissioning task most effectively. Specifically work with Electrical contractor and ensure installation is completed per Honeywell drawings and guidelines.
Coordinate with SDC or Local engineer to understand scope, Hardware, Software, Graphics and as-built details
Conduct system functional training as required per contract
YOU MUST HAVE
Associate or Technical college diploma in electrical, electronic, building mechanics or instrumentation fields or Bachelors of Engineering
Proficiency with building systems. Programming, PC, and general networking knowledge
Control systems open protocol (BACnet, LON, MODBUS) knowledge
Knowledge of HVAC systems, Control systems, Mechanical system operation and building facilities.
Knowledge of Security systems, access control, CCTV, Digital Video and controlling software.
Must be able to obtain security clearance
3-5 years’ experience in related field work
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays.
Advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
Experience using productivity tools such as multimeter, wireless PDA, routers, network troubleshooting
Previous technical/installation/integration experience
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done.
Communication skills sufficient to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors.
Previous customer service experience
Ability to follow instructions and identify mistakes
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to work independently and accomplish all commissioning tasks.
