Who Are We Looking For?

A rare opportunity has become available for a dedicated individual to join us in Yeovil as a senior customer quality engineer. As our new CQ engineer, you will be providing a vital link between our organisation and our valued customers utilising your polished influencing and social skills.

For you, a large part of this role will see you working closely with a variety of internal teams such as our business segment team, and our supply chain product centres. You'll be responsible for identifying and deploying quality improvement programs for products we provide to our customers.

To be successful, you will have a breadth of technical experience across multiple programs and products, both electrical and mechanical, in order to effectively communicate with the customers. You should have experience in working with globally diverse teams, interacting with senior management, influencing, and solving complex problems with incomplete information.

Your Daily Routine?

  • You will develop and distribute customer communications related to quality initiatives and issues.
  • You will review, approve, and communicate customer contract quality requirements to our wider business
  • You will establish and maintain customer relationships growing them effectively through dedicated customer communication.
  • You will evolve, validate, and approve ISC / Engineering Root Cause and Corrective Actions resulting from customer quality investigations.
  • You will grow, review, approve, and/or lead customer quality improvement plans (QIP).
  • You will lead disclosures reporting with your customers.
  • You will influence site quality actions on customer quality performance indicators: voice of customer / escapes / disclosures.

What Skills and Experience Will You Have?

  • You will hold a Degree in Engineering or related disciplines.
  • You should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in a quality/engineering/manufacturing/operations/production/repair & overhaul
  • Validated knowledge and experience with the aerospace industry, products, customers and regulatory environment.
  • A deep understanding of aviation regulations such as CAA/FAA/AS9100
  • Superb communication and influencing skills
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is advantageous
  • A working knowledge of aerospace quality practices including regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g. AS9100, FAA, EASA and Government Regulations).
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience with project management and facilitation.
  • Accomplished analytical skills, including ability to interpret business performance and financial data, define actions, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent team building skills, building constructive and open environments for sharing data.
